520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Approved Document B has been split into two volumes, with volume two dealing with buildings other than dwelling houses. The changes, which come into force on 6 April 2007, will affect future building work in England and Wales, such as the erection, extension or material alteration of a building, and how fire safety is designed into a building. A major change is the introduction of a new Regulation (16B) to ensure adequate fire safety information is recorded to assist the eventual owner, occupier, or employer to meet their statutory duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Other changes include new guidance on residential care homes (including on the use of sprinklers) and the provision of sprinklers in tall blocks of flats.
