Summary, etc. Provides guidance for the planning and provision of land required by travelling showpeople. Evidence showed that DoE Circular 22/91 (ISBN 011752560X) failed to effectively acknowledge their needs and support their way of life. Replicates much of the guidance on planning for gypsies and travellers (Circular 01/06). However there are significant numerous differences. Travelling showpeople often require mixed-use land for residence and equipment repair; have a different culture to travellers; and create greater noise and visual impact for short periods of stay. Aims to ensure such people do not become homeless. Follows a consultation paper (L136433).
