While the Olympic bid and other high profile construction projects will continue to generate work from 2008, there is likely to be a peak in activity in 2011, followed by a year of little or no growth in 2012. Employment levels are also predicted to peak in 2011, with employment forecast to increase by 7% in total over the period. In real terms output growth across the construction industry by 2012 will have increased by a third since 2000. Compares the different construction sectors and provides forecasts for construction growth and employment prospects across the UK regions. |
