| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. | Presents the results of research aimed at discovering residents' views of and attitudes towards high density residential developments. Considers eight case studies. Finds that the degree of decision to move into such developments varies according to tenure type. Owner occupiers had the greatest degree of choice. Although costs were generally lower, many respondents reported continuing problems with affordability. Design and architecture was viewed generally positively. Crime was still a concern and there was not felt to be a strong sense of community cohesion. More than half did not expect to stay longer than five years. Suggests improvements for future developments. |
