520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Final report of Sir Michael Pitt's independent review of the flooding emergency of June/July 2007. The report calls for drastic changes in the way the country is adapting to the increased risk of flooding. It calls on the Government to set out publicly how it will make rapid progress, and be held to account, on improving the country's flood resilience. Recommends the UK Government should: establish a Cabinet Committee dedicated to tackling the risk of flooding; publish monthly progress reports; ensure proper resourcing of flood resilience measures; establish a National Resilience Forum to facilitate national level planning; set up pre-planned, rather than ad hoc, financial arrangements for exceptional emergencies; publish an action plan.
