Summary, etc. Provides a monthly view of the UK economy and property market. Reports that Q2 GDP growth fell to 0.2%, with real signs of the overall economy weakening. Those claiming unemployment benefits rose by 15 500 in June, despite a modest expansion of the labour market. Investment property market transactions have been falling, with foreign buyers responsible for much of the transactions which were completed. Suggests that investors are waiting to capitalise on distressed sales. Occupier demand for the office market remains reasonable. In the residential sector, the 'super prime' remains largely unaffected, while uncertainty over stamp duty and restricted access to consumer finance continues to hamper the rest of the market.
