Summary, etc. Reports that across Asia, many markets saw GDP fall on a quarter-on-quarter annualised basis in 4Q 2008, and office rents also suffered in this quarter, especially in financial centres such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, Mumbai and Sydney where rents fell at double-digit rates. Risk aversion amongst investors also affected capital values, and the investment market stayed subdued in 4Q 2008, with investment volumes dropping by 56% quarter-on-quarter, bringing the total for 2008 down by 40% compared to 2007.
