The Direction sets out the requirement for local planning authorities to consult the Secretary of State before granting planning permission for certain types of development. Replaces provisions included in existing directions and introduce a new requirement for developments which may have an adverse impact on World Heritage Sites. Comes into force on 20 April 2009.
