Although some major markets (including Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Munich, Rome, and Abu Dhabi) saw rises in rents in the latter half of 2008, the prediction for 2009 is that the trend will be more uniform, and rents are forecast to fall in most cities included in the survey. Landlords are responding to the situation by offering greater incentives and rent free periods, whilst tenants are trying to reduce costs by looking for offices which are "move in ready". |
