This represents an increase of 1% from the provisional estimate published in May 2009. Since 1997, the proportion of dwellings built on previously-developed land has increased by 23%. London has the highest proportion of dwellings built on previous developed land, a total of 95%. The East of England has the smallest in proportion with 67%.
