Summary, etc. Presents findings of survey on housing conditions and the energy performance of the housing stock in England and Wales in 2007. Reports that the energy performance of houses improved. It reached 50 SAP points compared to 42 SAP in 1996. 41% of houses were in the higher bands of Energy Efficient Rating Bands 1A to D, which is an improvement on the 19% in 1996. Houses in the social sector were more energy efficient (58%) than in the private sector (48%). 52% of houses from the private sector were considered non-decent homes accommodation.
