Summary, etc. Report based on the results of English Housing Survey started in the year beginning April 2007. The findings include owner occupation remaining the most common form of tenure, forming 68.3% of all households in England. Renting is considerably more prevalent in London, where owner occupation stands at 55%. The proportion of younger householders (aged 25-29) who are in privately rented accommodation has risen from 19% in 1993 to 38% in 2007-08. Second homes in England have risen by 35% in the last 11 years and households having a second home abroad have risen by 135%. Provides detailed statistics.
