The handbook is an invaluable source of reference for those practitioners, in both the public and private sectors, who deal with such issues as leasehold enfranchisement, the right to buy (and the new right to acquire for tenants of registered social landlords), assured, secure and protected tenancies, disrepair and all other areas of residential landlord and tenant law. This title includes extensive amendments to the Housing Acts 1988 and 1985 in relation to security of tenure (by Part 3 of the Housing & Regeneration Act 2008); other amendments to the 1985 Act in relation to the right to buy and other landlord and tenant matters by the 2008 Act; amendments to the Leasehold Reform Act 1967 by the 2008 Act; and, amendments to the Landlord and Tenant Acts 1985 and 1987 by the 2008 Act in relation to service charges and leasehold management. Part I of the 2008 Act which introduces the Housing and Community Agency for the funding and promotion of new housing. Part 2 of the 2008 which introduces a new system for the regulation of housing (including local authority housing). It includes the homelessness provisions in the Housing Acts 1985 and the Homelessness Act 2002. It also features legislation relating to Mobile Homes and Caravans.
