Summary, etc. One of the major drawbacks of a GNSS is the requirement of a clear view of the sky. Dependency on the geometric distribution of the satellites, leads to varying accuracy throughout the day. Locata is a terrestrial positioning technology, addressing those issues by removing the need for a clear view of the sky. This focuses on the integration of GPS with Locata. The main goal is to maintain centimetre accuracy, especially in the areas traditionally regarded as "difficult" for GNSS. With existing research at the University of Nottingham focusing on various aspects of engineering works (namely bridge monitoring and deformation works) such integrated system is expected to support those applications.
