Summary, etc. The Barker Review's final report "Delivering stability: securing our future housing needs" has been published. Its analysis focused on the UK's chronically low level of housing building and the long-term trend rate of house price growth and highlighted the economic consequences of a weak supply of housing. The report sets out key policy recommendations to establish a goal for affordability of market housing, reflecting the status of housing as a national priority, and to introduce a number of reforms to the planning system.
