Summary, etc. "Social cohesion", a report by the ODPM housing, planning, local government and the regions committee, recommends that regeneration schemes should tackle needs across districts rather than target small local areas and a spending balance should be set between the two. The study also finds that local authorities need greater incentives to break down barriers between communities and advises that local strategic partnerships could play a key role in co-ordinating initiatives to promote social cohesion.
