Summary, etc. The "Future of transport" white paper has been published by the Dft. It looks at the factors that will shape travel and transport over the next 30 years and sets out how the government will respond to the increasing demand for travel, maximising the benefits of transport while minimising the negative impact on people and the environment. The strategy is backed up by high levels of investment over the next 15 years - from £10.4bn in 2004 to over £12.8bn by 2007.
