Summary, etc. The Countryside Agency has unveiled the results of their research into the changing nature of the English countryside. The Countryside Quality Counts (CQC) project was launched two years ago in response to the government 2000 Rural White Paper for England (ISBN 0101490925). Briefly describes the setting up of the project, its methods and procedures and aims. Data from CQC can be viewed at www.countryside-quality-counts.org.uk. The results were incorporated into the Countryside Agency's "State of the countryside 2004" report which can be downloaded from www.countryside.gov.uk.
