Summary, etc. Natural England is a new flagship environmental organisation launched on 2 October 2006, bringing together English Nature, the Countryside Agency's Landscape, Access and Recreation division, and the Rural Development Service's environment activities. Natural England is responsible for ensuring that England's unique natural environment, including its land, flora and fauna, freshwater and marine environments, geology and soils, are protected and improved. It also has responsibility to help people enjoy, understand and access the natural environment.
