Abstract The January 2024 RICS UK Residential Survey results <br/>show another slight improvement across all sales <br/>market activity indicators. Moreover, sentiment <br/>regarding the outlook for sales volumes over the <br/>coming twelve months has turned increasingly positive, <br/>supported by expectation that interest rates will ease <br/>back to a certain degree as the year progresses. <br/>At the national level, the new buyer enquiries series <br/>posted a net balance reading of +7% in January, up <br/>from a figure of -3% previously. As such, this is now <br/>consistent with a gradual recovery coming through <br/>for buyer demand. Although still relatively modest in <br/>a longer term context, the latest reading is in fact the <br/>most positive since February 2022.
