Summary, etc. El libro Gestion hidrica y planificacion del territorio desde la sustentabilidad es una recopilacion de los trabajos de grado de estudiantes de la Maestria en Desarrollo Sustentable de la Universidad del Valle. El libro contiene metodologias, teorias y casos de estudio que abordan la sustentabilidad como tema central. Se encuentra organizado en dos grandes tematicas: Gestion del agua y sostenibilidad, que contiene cinco capitulos, los cuales exponen la necesidad de avanzar en el conocimiento de la gestion sostenible del agua, para generar espacios de discusion y asi entender y abordar las problematicas y necesidades del agua de una sociedad en constante crecimiento, desde un enfoque integral, con el fin de dar soluciones sostenibles en el largo plazo. Esto, a partir de la economia ecologica y la ecologia politica, el uso de indicadores e indices de sostenibilidad, la implementacion de tecnicas mas eficientes y el desarrollo de alternativas tecnologicas. La otra tematica se denomina Gestion del riesgo para la planificacion sustentable del territorio, que consta de cuatro capitulos. Los autores exponen que la gestion del riesgo juega un papel fundamental en la planificacion y sustentabilidad del territorio, al considerar las medidas de prevencion y reduccion de la vulnerabilidad, que son fundamentales para enfrentar un fenomeno amenazante. Realizan un aporte a la evaluacion y conceptualizacion de la vulnerabilidad y la adaptacion desde las dimensiones ambiental, social y economica. Asi mismo, se muestra un estudio de caso frente al desarrollo urbano no planificado.
