520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Highlights the growing criticism of the proposed council tax . Whilst the idea of a property-based tax is welcomed, many feel that the amount local authorities will be able to raise though the property tax and uniform business tax is not enough to maintain the present level of services . The Institute of Directors is also critical of the proposed tax and in addition to the general comments echoed by other interest groups, calls for the abolition of UBR and the introduction of local property taxes .
