Summary, etc. "Dame Margaret Hungerford Charity Trustees v Beazley" CA 29 April 1993. On expiry of a 5 year lease, B continued as tenant under the Rent Act 1977. Subsequently D suggested alternative accommodation and embarked on proceedings for possession pursuant to s98(1) of the Act. Possession was granted to D at first instance as arrangements for repairing the building were held to be reasonable. B`s counterclaim for breach of repairing covenant was dismissed, as was the appeal.
