| Summary, etc. | In Thistle Hotels Ltd v Sir Robert McAlpine & Sons Ltd , CA 6 April 1989, the point at issue was the right to amend a writ issued in the wrong name. Following fire damage to a hotel during building work, a writ was issued in the name of Thistle Hotels against the sub-contractor as being responsible for the damage. That was an error, as Scottish and Newcastle Breweries Ltd were the employers under the contract. |
