Summary, etc. As an international event, the ICSC conference in Nice was keen to identify and report on market trends throughout Europe without giving coverage to any one country. Accordingly the fortunes of shopping centres in 1990 were summarised by region: southern, central, northern and eastern Europe , before passing on in day 2 to themes of common interest. Speakers addressed subjects such as the renovation of ailing centres, conservation within historic towns, airport shops . The 3rd day reviewed the North American market, and five specific centres in Europe, and the final day considered future developments, with the advent of a market of 350 million people as a major preoccupation.
