Summary, etc. Mallick v Liverpool CC CA 14 July 1999. Appellant (M) was owner and occupier of property who let some as furnished tenancies. This provided income to pay his mortgage. Liverpool CC acquired the property by a general vesting declaration, and determined market value on 30 January 1989. On 13 March 1989, M submitted a claim for compensation and requested an advance payment under Land Compensation Act 1973 s52. On 8 February 1990, £27,900 was paid. The land was then valued at £80,000 and the balance was paid on 14 October 1993. M claimed for late payment and for loss of income. Appeal dismissed. [1999]
