Details the findings of a survey which looked at construction employers' views of the response strategies that have been promoted by industry and government. Describes seven existing schemes, and another nine alternative strategies. The survey findings indicate that employers support: the Construction Skills Certification Scheme; Investors in People; economic stability within the industry; long term industry-wide training plans; a return to direct employment; the development of new technologies and construction techniques.
