The article concentrates on the IT system, Hyrad, which is able to provide real time weather patterns and forecasts with historical weather data for a region for use in flood forecast models. Hyrad was developed by the ecology and hydrology research centre CEH Wallingford. However the Agency hopes to take this forward to a new level that will cover a wider geographic flood risk area and be able to pinpoint precise locations of flooding.
