Summary, etc. The DETR has published details of the locations of the proposed sites of spring trials of genetically modified oilseed rape and beet. Sowing of the herbicide tolerant rape is expected to begin in mid March with the beet being sown later in the month. Sites for trials of GM maize will be announced in the week beginning 26 March 2001. Full details of the sites are available on the DETR website at http://www.detr.gov.uk.
