The claimant S instructed the defendant firm of surveyors P to inspect and report upon a property that they subsequently purchased for £325,000. S sought cost of repairs after discovery of defects required remedial works. A surveyor was appointed to report on the condition of the property. The issue was whether property measure of damages, was costs of repairs or difference between the price paid and actual value of the property. Judge dismissed claim. "Held", appeal was dismissed.
