"Estates Gazette" asked 10 managers from the big chartered surveying firms to take a number of psychometric tests to identify common traits in surveyors. The psychometric tests measure the following personality dimensions: persuasive, democratic, caring, data rational, change orientated, planning orientated, active and decisive. The tests reveal that surveyors only enjoy persuading people as much as other professionals, they have little interest in forward planning and a lack of attention to detail, and surveying firms tend to be less well managed. Includes details of PACE Partnership's benchmarking study of how professional firms manage relationships with key clients and discusses the views of King Sturge, CB Hillier Parker and Chesterton towards psychometric testing. |
