A recent ruling, Go West Ltd v Spigarolo is of great general significance as it concerns an issue of principle. The key points were that a landlord's response to a tenant's application for a license to assign necessarily brings to an end the reasonable period allowed for by the Landlord and Tenant Act 1988.
