Summary, etc. This two part "Mainly for Student" article reports back on a training day organised by the in-house property consultancy arm of Birmingham City Council for APC candidates in July 2003. Candidates were given a hypothetical landlord and tenant scenario to deal with. The aim of such events is to stress to candidates the importance of making links between landlord and tenant tasks and other areas of practice such as valuation and investment reinforcing the principle of all round knowledge. Emphasises the importance of keeping up to date with case law referring to "Homebase Ltd v Allied Dunbar Assurance plc" [2003] EWCA Civ 666, Abs65740 as an example. Discusses the expectations of APC assessors regarding candidates' knowledge of landlord and tenant issues. Concludes with a list of current landlord and tenant issues.
