Summary, etc. The competition to find Britain's worst wasted spaces run by CABE Space and RICS has found a piece of land in Salford which was formerly occupied by a primary school as Britain's worst wasted area. Over 2 000 spaces were nominated on the campaign website and these ranged from large badly maintained public parks and derelict industrial land to small pockets of space in residential neighbourhoods that have become dumps for household rubbish and litter.
