Summary, etc. Reports on "Building sustainability: how to plan and construct new housing for the 21st century" by the Town and Country Planning Association, Sustainable Housing Forum and WWF-UK. The report says although it is possible to build housing with zero carbon emissions, reduce water consumption and use renewable energies, housing built along these lines of good practice is still not the norm. The report aims to show that via changes to building regulations and the planning system this can be turned around. and sets out recommendations to policy and decision-makers to make this happen. Although based on England the research is also relevant to Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The report is available by post from TCPA t +44 (0)20 7930 8903 or view at www.tcpa.org.uk or www.wwf.org.uk.
