520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Provides a summary of the latest Building/Hays Montrose careers survey of the construction industry. Quality of life emerges as one of the biggest issues with the long-hours culture still in place within much of the construction industry. The work-life balance is also illustrated in the reasons that employees may look for another job, with reducing stress coming very high on the agenda just behind the desire for a wage increase. Workplace location in relation to the employees' home is regarded as crucial. The majority of the respondents also considered that government was not doing enough for construction apart from the introduction of family friendly rules on flexible working hours. A summary of the results in available at www.building.co.uk.
