520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Discusses the recent findings of a survey "Perceptions of privacy and density" conducted among residents of a variety of 20th century residential homes with regard to attitudes on intrusions on privacy. Noise was identified as a key problem for some residents as was the possibility of being overheard by neighbours, especially in the bedroom. Researchers also found the issue of security to be a key reason for moving home, while private outdoor space was highly valued particularly in higher-density situations. In terms of family life, space and privacy were also seen as important with the four storey town house being highly regarded.
