Summary, etc. Discusses a new system developed by RICS and the Asbestos Removal Association which will help meet demand for new accredited surveyors to implement asbestos regulations such as The Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002. The National Individual Asbestos Creditation Scheme (NIACS) should reduce insurers' exposure to potential claims which should encourage more surveyors to take up asbestos survey work. RICS is hoping the NIACS scheme will running by early 2005.
