520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Property professionals stealing commercially sensitive material from former employers are increasingly in danger of being found out. Sting operation techniques involving forensic examinations on computer files, rifling through dustbins or posing as property agents are being used to capture corporate fraudsters. High Court penalties for this crime could result in forcing the offender to return the information and recover any profits made by using the information. A prevention method is to install sleeper-files containing bogus sensitive commercial information. These are monitored by the IT department, and once accessed, immediately alert company bosses.
