| Summary, etc. | Argues that whilst most standard form contracts provide for the completion date to be extended under certain defined circumstances, few address the questions as to how extension of time is to be determined and how compensation is to be valued. So far as disruption is concerned, contracts are often silent, and reliance is instead placed on breach of a tacit term of the contract that the employer will not interfere with the contractor's performance of its work, which is often the cause of disputes. The more certainty there is in identifying and defining the allocation of risk in the contract, the less scope there is for dispute between the parties |
