The traditional craft-based structures and processes still used in the UK, Ireland, France and Spain consume significantly more labour and materials than the more industrialised approach adopted in Germany and the Nordic countries. Rates of pay are higher in these countries, and staff need less on-site supervision. Contains bar charts.
