Summary, etc. The University of Bath and the BRE have joined together to establish a new research centre, the BRE Centre in Innovative Construction Materials. The centre will promote research into new construction materials, and explore innovative ways of using traditional materials, such as timber and masonry, in modern sustainable building. It will also consider crop-based and natural fibre composite materials, such as hemp, advanced fibre composites, the use of steel, and the use of waste and recycled materials.
