Summary, etc. The Scottish Government has ruled out extending tenant farmers' "Right to Buy", following a report by the Tenant Farming Forum on the difficulties of attracting new entrants to tenant farming (see E146236). It is felt that fear of an "absolute" right to buy may make landowners reluctant to let out their land to tenant farmers, thus reducing the number of available tenancies.
