Summary, etc. Summarises the results of the latest Local Data Company shop vacancy report "Too many shops". Although it is not possible to predict whether there is a structural oversupply of retail space in the UK, there are a number of telling factors which point in this direction. It is clear that for the high street and especially secondary shopping centres the current high vacancy levels are here to stay with the prospect of alternative uses being made of the vacant space.
