Looks at the contribution that agri-environment schemes have made towards providing new access opportunities. Concludes that the schemes have made a limited contribution towards providing net new access in the countryside and that there is limited geographical correlation between supply and demand. The paper discusses how a more integrated and co-ordinated approach to provision of access under agri-environment schemes might be achieved.
