An executive summary of research undertaken by the RICS Raising the Ratio Committee to identify the barriers that may be preventing women from joining or staying in the surveying profession and what could be done to improve these. Factors pertinent to the issue of raising entrance and retention rates amongst women surveyors were explored including levels of pay, training, promotion, work/life balance and family responsibilities.
