Summary: The introduction of robust details (high performance separating wall and floor constructions that should not require pre-completion testing) has necessitated the amendment of Regulations 20A and 12A, made by the Building (Amendment) Regulations 2004 and the Building (Approved Inspector etc) (Amendment) Regulations 2004 respectively. The resulting 2004 amendments to Approved Document E 2003 edition came into effect 1 July 2004.
