Updates advice to local planning authorities in respect of those National Amenity Societies (NAS) to whom they must send notice of applications for listed building consent and the decisions taken by them on those applications, in the following cases: works for the demolition of a listed building or works for the alteration of a listed building which comprise or include the demolition of any part of that building. The NAS are the Ancient Monuments Society, the Council for British Archaeology, the Georgian Group, the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, the Victorian Society and the Twentieth Century Society. The Direction comes into force on 6 October 2005 and relates to England only.
