House prices increased by 1.3% in September despite August's interest rate hike, bringing the annual rate of house price inflation to 8.2%, the fastest rate of growth since February 2005. The price of a typical UK house now stands at £ 169 413, almost £13 000 more than a year ago. Strong demand from landlords is helping to sustain the market and tenant demand is being supported significantly by the large influx of immigrant workers across the whole of the UK.
