House prices increased by 0.2% in July following successive declines in May and June. Annual house inflation is now 8.8%. The Halifax forecast for house price growth in 2006 is increased from 3% to 5%, well below the long-term average of 8%. The standardised average house price (seasonally adjusted) stands at £177 020.
